About Our Coalition

We are a unified coalition of Democratic Committee members and engaged residents from 9 rural towns (light blue on map) in Dutchess County NY, working together to strengthen our collective voice and build political impact.

Individually, our towns are small. Together, we represent a powerful and growing community of voters committed to advancing Democratic values, supporting strong candidates, and shaping the future of our county, state, and nation.

By collaborating across municipal lines, we demonstrate a clear and visible critical mass — attracting county, state, and congressional candidates to our rural region, while energizing local voters to get involved, stay informed, and take action.

Why We Matter

Small rural towns need a strong voice. By joining forces, we create the visibility and organizational strength needed to influence policy, attract leaders, and win elections.

When we organize together, we are not nine small towns — we are one powerful regional community.

Democracies are like the human body they need to be healthy, they need to use their muscles, use their strength. We have to exercise this democracy every day. And that means registering to vote, it means getting the vote out, it means talking to your neighbors, it means being involved. And that’s what you guys are doing here. So thank you to the Northern [Dutchess] Democrats, ...thank you all for everything you’re doing every day.

By joining together to form the Northern Dutchess Democrats (NDD), the rural communities of northeast Dutchess County have expanded their political clout and amplified their voices, already electing a new Democratic County Legislator, several Town Supervisors and other local officials, as well as the county’s first Democratic District Attorney in over a century, I look forward to continuing to partner with NDD to elect more Democrats in Dutchess County.

When I first learned of the organic coming together of our smaller but very engaged Northern Dutchess Democratic Committees, it was momentous. The power of their combined efforts has been a sort of "boffo at the box office" impact: significantly higher attendance, more dollars raised, and more voters engaged. This is a model that other more rural committees across New York can emulate.

What We Do

Build Regional Strength

We share strategies, coordinate efforts, and align messaging across towns to create a stronger, more visible Democratic presence in our region. Together, we amplify our impact.

Engage & Grow the Electorate

We work to register new voters, welcome new residents, engage young voters, and reach underrepresented communities. Our goal is an informed, energized, and expanding Democratic base.

Support Democratic Candidates

We demonstrate that our region is organized, active, and ready to win. We host candidate events, forums, and meet-and-greets, and provide grassroots volunteer support to campaigns at every level.

Mobilize & Get Out the Vote

Through canvassing, phone banking, mailings, digital outreach, and community events, we connect directly with voters to share Democratic priorities, encourage voter registration and strong turnout in every election.

Fundraise & Build Capacity

We raise the funds necessary to sustain our work, invest in organizing tools and training, and support candidates who reflect our shared values.
